“நினைவாயுதம்" - Memory as a Weapon - a three day exhibition of photographs, documents, memorabilia and records related to Mullivaikkal curated by @uojusu aimed at taking the history of the Tamil genocide, its painful memory and the struggle for justice to the next generation.
Thousands of Tamil people gathered today at the Mullivaikkal Tamil Genocide Memorial in Mullaitivu to mark the 17th Tamil Genocide Commemoration Day and remember their loved ones.
Families of the disappeared, political leaders, students, religious leaders, and members of the public took part in the remembrance event, paying tribute with flowers, lamps, and moments of silence for those who lost their lives during the final phase of the war in Mullivaikkal.
The commemoration was marked by emotional scenes as grieving families remembered their loved ones, while calls for justice, remembrance, and accountability echoed throughout the gathering.
