@TearYouthTO A4: Take time for yourself, to do the activities you enjoy doing. As much as the holidays can be about spending time w/ other people, it's also important to not forget about caring for yourself.

@TearYouthTO A3: Just b/c the way that you spend your holiday isn't the same as what you see online, doesn't make it any less special. Your holiday is unique to you - that's what makes it special (2/2)

@TearYouthTO A3: Limiting technology use (or at least social media use) could be 1 way. Oftentimes, social media can make us feel like we're not spending our holidays the "right" way - when in reality, there's no "correct" way to spend the holidays (1/2)

@TearYouthTO A2: I think there's a pressure to utilize the holidays to "get ahead" or "be productive" - which can cause us to lose sight of how important it is to just slow down & utilize it as a time to unwind.

@TearYouthTO A1: I'm looking forward to reconnecting with friends from highschool (we all went to different universities, so we haven't seen each other in-person since we graduated).

@TearYouthTO The @canantifraud has some good resources w/ info about what to do if scammed online (some general tips would be to contact your bank + report it to the anti-fraud centre/whatever website you were on - ex: if you were shopping online)
@TearYouthTO Applies not just to online shopping, but general online safety as well - try not to save/store info (be it passwords, credit card details etc). While it's convenient b/c it saves you from having to type the same info multiple times, the info isn't very securely saved.

@TearYouthTO I agree that this is True (it's a holiday-related phishing scam) as anything related to money transfers (esp of such a high amount) are usually done through a more secure, safe platform (not SMS, but a more verifiable platform instead).
@TearYouthTO A1:
- Think before you speak/post & ensure that what you put out, is respectful and kind.
- Remember (especially in the digital world) that there's a person on the other side who will be affected by what you say.
- Don't be a bystander - report cyberbullying.

@TearYouthTO A2: Report the post containing cyberbullying & reach out to both the individual(s) affected + higher authorities (ex: if it's a school setting, report it to the teacher/administration).
#TEARtalk
@TearYouthTO A1: A time to raise awareness about bullying & take a conscious look at what we can be doing to support those affected by it. #TEARtalk
@TearYouthTO A3: Believe in & support them, rather than accuse them of making false claims or making up stories. Domestic violence is serious, and should always be taken seriously. #TEARtalk
@TearYouthTO A3: Contacting the financial institutions you're linked w/ (ex: banks) is probably a good first step (along w/ maybe anti-fruad centres). #TEARtalk
@TearYouthTO A2: Phishing is when realistic-looking messages (ex: emails) are used to obtain things like info (ex: personal details) or money.
I think it's become more common since the pandemic, b/c everyone has become more reliant on online communication.
#TEARtalk
@TearYouthTO A1: A time to raise awareness about ways we can be more safe online & take a moment to reflect on changes we can make in our daily lives, to help make us more cybersecure.
