the blackout tuesday does NOT mean to simply post a black picture and leave social media for the day. It means to stop promoting your own stuff for 24 hours, and instead amplify the voices & projects of Black creators, writers, directors, activists and more. pass it on.
let’s all make sure to support and try our best to educate others on how they can support the black community during this difficult time. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #BlackLivesMatter
I’ve seen a tonnnnn if black screens on Instagram today and it’s honestly a little disappointing. #BlackOutTuesday was not supposed to be a day of silence. Blackout Tuesday was made to bring light and attention to the black community....
It’s nice to see everyone coming together but this could have been way more productive had everyone shared our knowledge with each other instead of simply posting black screens and being done with it. That being said here’s some information on how you can help.
Doing music full time is not easy, especially for struggling artists. Mad respect to those who give it all up for the dream. Remember, persistence always wins in the end.
I don’t come from a family with a lot of money - not even close, but I’m so great full for that. I don’t have the means to buy my way into things. I’ve had to work twice as hard to make things happen but it really makes it 10X better when you know it is because of your hard work.
I’ll never understand this constant obsession with some artists who dream of appearing on singing competitions with the most restrictive music industry contracts. I don’t know everything, but I do know that giving up ownership of your masters for quick fame is not the way to go.
song writing was always something I saw as impossible.. now it’s one of my favourite things to do! hope to share some stuff with you guys sometime soon!
someone asked me how I stay so positive after not getting through? Talent competitions are based on the judges opinions and preferences, just because one person doesn’t like what your doing doesn’t mean you’re not talented. Yes prizes are great but I’m in it for the experience.
didn’t end up going through to round 2 at the CNE Rising Star competition, you win some you lose some! thankful for the experience and congratulations to those who made it through!
