“if you cannot press money, clear.”
me keeping back the money i intended to press on my own terms and free will, because i don’t like being told what to do:
I have a theory that whoever has a car in Nigeria is richer than 80% of the rest of the population
This is a country that has no credit system of buying cars unlike abroad.
You paid outright cold cash to get that car.
If you can fork out that amount on a car then you deserve hailing.
You wey dey drive 2009 Corolla go dey fear to post video vibing to music in your car so them no go see you as broke when in reality you’re richer than 95% of Nigerians.
We set too much stupid standards for a poor country like ours
some moments are bigger than football.
we remember Jorge Messi, a father, a guiding force, and a man who played an important role in the journey of football’s greatest. our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Leo Messi and his family.
No way some of you take this football banter thing to real life, idgaf about agenda, if I
meet any footballer, rival or not, I’m giving them the biggest glaze ever and begging for a pic
Some of you need to chill lmao
When he routinely dances with death like this to put food on the table, he will still be a bad husband if he does not know his wife's medical history, or forgets her birthday.
lol whenever I see some babes in the comment section of average Nigerians, I laugh. You see them saying they can’t settle for less, madam over 130 million Nigerians are in poverty, you are also part of the less.
Dear anonymous lady, I would not simply tell you to “lower your standards.”
I would advise you to separate standards from preferences.
Character, kindness, shared values, emotional maturity, work ethic, financial responsibility and the ability to carry responsibility are standards.
“He must earn more than I do” is a preference.
It is not an illegitimate preference, but as your income rises, the number of men who satisfy it necessarily becomes smaller.
You are entitled to retain that preference, but you should understand the trade-off.
Income matters in marriage.
However, “earns more than me” is often a crude proxy for what you may truly need: stability, ambition, discipline, generosity, competence and compatible expectations about money and family life.
A man’s current salary is only one data point in what could become a life long partnership.
Is he diligent?
Does he manage money responsibly?
Does he have direction?
Can he celebrate your success without feeling diminished by it?
Will he carry his share of the family’s responsibilities?
Can you agree on the kind of home you want to build?
A man can earn more than you and still be a terrible husband.
Another can earn less and be secure, responsible, industrious and an excellent life partner.
But let me be equally honest: if you know that you would struggle to admire or respect a husband who earns less than you, do not marry one while pretending that it does not matter.
That would eventually be unfair to both of you.
Either reconsider the preference sincerely or accept that keeping it may mean a smaller pool and possibly a longer search.
The pattern I noticed is common in elite professional circles for a reason.
Career success and traditional pairing dynamics often pull in opposite directions.
You can have both, but it usually requires intentionality, earlier prioritisation of partnership, and realistic expectations about the market.
Ignoring the data does not make the data disappear.
Wishing you clarity, not just a husband.
(The right one is worth the wait but the clock is also real.)
I’ll tell you a very harsh lesson I’ve had to learn through painful experience.
If a person don’t like you, there’s ABSOLUTELY nothing in this world you can do to change that.
Twerking for the approval of people who hate your very existence is a fool’s game. Best case scenario, you end up what they call a “useful idiot.”
