The real tea is people want to hear that people acquire their luxury through illegitimate means so they can feel better about not having said luxury or wealth lol. Thatโs all it is. But life is not like that. You canโt live like that
For building conversational agents that aren't absurdly expensive to run, you gotta do 3 things:
1. Move from 'Thin Harness + Fat Skills' โ 'Thin Harness + Thin Skills + Code Workflows'
The LLM shouldn't do all the work. Most things are deterministic enough so Code is 100x cheaper. The LLM becomes a go between the user and Code and Code calls LLM when it needs judgement.
2. Compaction Fast & Often
The main agent keeps accumulating A LOT of context quickly as you chat and have it do work. At some point a single 'hey' message becomes insanely expensive. Compact smartly and ensure you have a good memory recall tool to pull further into history when needed.
3. Move from Single Agent โ Main Agent + Sub Agent
The main agent has all the context, bigger always-on tool footprint and chat history, a lot of which you don't need to do isolated work. So create a light sub agent that has a very small always-on footprint, no chat history and specific tools only for that job and get the main agent to delegate to it often. 1/10th the cost.

.@satyanadella just put the whole "water" debate to rest.
Datacenters run on a closed loop cooling system, the water usage of a datacenter for an entire year is roughly equivalent to a usage of 1 restaurant!
The Premier League title race would have entered the final match round with Manchester City two points clear of Arsenal, according to The Athleticโs analysis of key match decisions made by referees and their video assistants.
โ Arsenal, Chelsea and Sunderland benefitted the most from errors
โ Bournemouth earned four fewer points than they should have
โ Fulham should have qualified for the Europa League
โ An extra 17 red cards and 36 penalties should have been awarded
@Refsplaining analyses every key match decision to evaluate how on-field and VAR refereeing decisions shaped the Premier League in 2025-26.
