There is no rational reason for Israel to intentionally attack exactly one American boat. It is ridiculous (literally, worthy of ridicule) when people use the USS Liberty to build a narrative that Israel is a bloodthirsty regime out to kill Americans—because this is literally the only incident in all of history when the Israeli military attacked an American target and took American lives. This is THE ONLY time this ever happened, and it was during the fog of war almost 60 years ago.

The reality is that almost no one sees what happened with the USS Liberty and honestly comes away with the conclusion that Israel is an enemy of America. Instead, people start with the presupposition that Israel is evil, and then they find this one incident and say “HA! ISRAEL KILLED AMERICANS I WAS RIGHT!” Such people are neither intellectually honest nor rational. It’s just confirmation bias, built on the age-old trope that Jews kill for the sake of killing.

I love when the rebuttal to the case is presented inside the case itself. In this case listing the number of people who were killed, how long it was before help arrived, and the condition the ship was in when the attack stopped. If Israel wanted there to be no survivors as Massie says, all they had to do was sink the ship. All they had to do was keep attacking.

He presents his case as thought Israel did not have the capacity to sink a ship somehow.

When you debunk your own case while you're making your case, it's derangement, idiocy, malice or profit motive that keeps you going.
