Our two new VASCO papers are now peer-reviewed, accepted and published — and they reveal some extraordinary things:
- We find statistically significant correlations between short-lived transients on pre-Sputnik sky plates, UFO sightings, and above-ground nuclear tests.
- We show a 22σ deficit of transients inside Earth’s shadow — consistent with a fraction of these events originating from solar reflections from flat, highly reflective surfaces in orbit before the human Space Age began.

Together with our earlier MNRAS paper, these results form a triptych of new methods to investigate UAP using astronomical data. Three independent high-level journals — and three independent peer review processes.

These latest results raise a bold question.

The nature of science fiction is prophecy, and there was no greater prophet of that genre than Arthur C. Clarke. He didn't just invent the telecommunications satellite before any country had a space program, but accurately predicted the rise of telecommuting, robotics, AI, personal computers, in a time when the average American worked in a factory.

Of all his books the one often cited as the best is Childhood's End, a story about a race of superior intelligent entities known as "Overlords" who come and take residence in the skies above major cities and remain there, mute and silent, as humanity acclimatizes to their presence. Eventually they reveal themselves and who they are - they are here to prevent humanity's self-extinction from nuclear war.

The Overlords guide humanity's development into a peaceful golden age of abundance and peace, until the children of Earth all start developing reality-bending psychic powers and merge into a single consciousness.

Anyway now that there's Telepathy Tapes and Drone sightings perhaps its time for Arthur C. Clarkes first novel, and final prediction, to come true.

Any time capsule describing the ECDO event for future generations couldn’t simply be buried underground—no one would ever find it. We couldn't rely on written language either, as lexicons may not survive, and documents could be expunged in a wave of self-righteous censorship.

It would have to be far more than a small capsule, a written record, or even carvings on stone, as those would either be lost, stolen, declared heretical, or erased by the zealous acolytes of The God™ and The Science™.

What we need is a monumental structure—something undeniable, ancient, too large to be washed away, with a surface that acts as a chemical litmus, preserving evidence of what struck it and how high it struck. The technical details, the very alignments of the event itself, would need to be embedded, encoded, and authenticated into the monument’s external and internal design, hidden so that acolytes of The God™ and The Science™ could neither easily find, figure out, nor erase it.

What this structure might look like, I’m not yet sure... hmmm. That is a puzzler 🤔
