@RussellH888@PaulineHansonOz Listen to a (relayed) confession by Senator Nick Minchen, Howard’s Minister for Finance, in 2007 how they had created “the perfect storm” for house prices, especially for the young. This is a disgrace it wasn't made a national campaign by the media esp @AFR@PhillipCoorey
@BradKlibansky 2/2 Essendon stitched up co-tenant clubs - St Kilda, North, Bulldogs and Carlton - preventing co-tenant clubs from signing a better deal than them on getting a cut of merch, food & drinks, with a “favoured nations” clause, so if you bought a Geelong jumper, they got a cut
@BradKlibansky 1/2 Oh such an impoverished club, state of the art facilities, just 16 flags, 5 wooden spoons (tragically just one since 1933). As a Saints supporter, with one flag & 27 wooden spoons, my heart bleeds for them, especially since they financially dudded Docklands co tenants in 2000
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 Love your idea that anything other than private investment is communism 😂😂I guess your Utopia is the United States, huh? User pays, if you can't afford it, it is because you don't work hard enough, or are lazy or stupid, I worked hard for my money so I should keep it, etc?
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 The struggle to pay mortgages can 100% be laid at the feet of the Howard government. And you know who said this? None other than Howard’s Finance Minister Nick Minchen worried they’d created “The Perfect Storm” for house prices. His words, not mine 👇👇
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 Communist. Well there ya go. Singapore is FAR from being remotely socialist and they have excellent social housing (that I’ve seen) that assists people to own their own hones, as do Sweden, Finland and others. Building homes does not rely on private investors.
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 How about instead of nitpicking a scheme to assist disabled people and most vulnerable in our society, what about how PwC, KPMG, EY, & Deloitte ripped off the Federal gov with overcharging, underquoting to secure initial tenders, and exploiting confidential information for profit
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 I see no evidence of a “failed” NDIS or something in dire need of repair or is “unfixable”. It can be improved, yes, agree with you. But do you also condemn the Banks, insurance companies and Colesworth how they’ve ripped us off, or even white collar crime that costs us $82B?
@s_d_mcintyre@matoots57 Well, working within the NDIS system, I see first-hand how much good it does, and how astonishing it was we didn't have anything like it prior. What is your preference? Do you know anyone on the NDIS or are you informed by what is in the media?
@s_d_mcintyre But you haven’t answered my question: did you ever complain about the pay of Abbott, Turnbull or Morrison? Do you think they were worth the money?
@s_d_mcintyre Frankly, $200,000 for the 24/7 scrutiny into your private life and finances, and having to work stupid hours for 6 or 7 days a week most weeks, they earn it. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys
@s_d_mcintyre The government funded pensions had an overall in 2004 when Howard was PM. Those in the House prior to then are entitled up to a tax free 75% of their wage pension for life but those after 2004 have the same super contributions we are all get. That old deal was a ripper if got it
@s_d_mcintyre ALL politicians don’t say the whole truth, or at least are selective about what they say, or use the King’s English to twist words. Some are liars. Are you saying Angus Taylor and his coalition members have never lied or not told the whole truth? Give me a break.
@s_d_mcintyre “ACTIVELY DESTROYING”? How, by bulldozers or bombs or some other nefarious means? He wakes up every day, goes to Parliament House, sits down with Labor caucus and they actively plot how to make the country worse? Helluva election strategy!
@Shrappy71 All I can do, as I have for 31 years, is pay my membership (30 years as social club = $thousands) and hope we have a board, coaches recruiters, players and luck of the bouncing ball to give us success. To honour that loyalty others stick it to us and our club. I’m sick of it
@Shrappy71 True, but others have a dig at St Kilda for needing to be “propped up”, the perennial basketcase on and off the field. I’m sick of arrogant journos and fans of other clubs sticking it to our club because of our pathetic football history.
@nononoyesmaing@Shrappy71 2/2 The original deal was the consortium who built Docklands would operate it, then the AFL could buy it for $30 in March ‘25. The AFL helped the other tenant clubs knowing by taking a financial hit they were helping it obtain an asset worth $Billions for ALL AFL clubs to benefit
@nononoyesmaing@Shrappy71 1/2 That’s because Essendon stitched up co-tenant clubs - St Kilda, North, Bulldogs and Carlton - preventing co-tenant clubs from signing a better deal than them with a “favoured nations” clause. Talk about sinking the boots in, the arrogant turds.
@Shrappy71 “Essendon secured a "favoured nations" clause in their original contract as an anchor tenant when Docklands (Marvel Stadium) opened receiving the best possible financial terms - cuts of merch/food/bev sales - preventing co-tenant clubs from negotiating better deals”
@Shrappy71 The Docklands Essendon deal was a “favoured nations” deal meant they got a cut of merchandise, food and beverages, to the extent that if you bought a Geelong jumper at the ground, Essendon got a cut, but no other co-tenant club could sign better deals
