SAUDI ARABIA ANNOUNCE EID FOR FRIDAY 20 MARCH
As we wrote in our predictions, Saudi Arabia have announced Eid for Friday. Thus UK mosques who follow Saudi will celebrate Eid Eid on Friday.
This was based on the moon not being seen today in Saudi, and so their Ramadan will complete 30 days. Indeed the moon could not be seen as it was already below the horizon, and before conjunction. According to a Saudi policy implemented in 2012, they no longer accept a sighting of a moon when the moon is before conjunction. Note that had happened before the 2012 reforms!
The *preset Umm Al Qura calender* had also already placed Eid on *Friday*. Saudi’s moonsighting dates do tend to align with their preset dates, despite the Umm al Qura calendar website declaring that it is not calculated based on the moon’s visibility!
*UK SIGHTERS TO GO OUT TOMORROW*
However, those of us who follow *local sighting* will be going out to look for the moon *tomorrow evening*.
The mosques who follow *Morocco* will also be awaiting news tomorrow.
Morocco is not expected to see the moon. However, whilst sighting here in the UK is also *unlikely,* it still remains a *possibility* - we will be trying our best and inshallah so too will you!
Thus for those following UK local sighting:
*If the moon is sighted by naked eye here in the UK tomorrow, then Eid will be on Friday. If not, then Eid will be on Saturday.*
Tune in LIVE on New Crescent Society YouTube or FB at 6:35pm to watch us go and look for the moon around the country, live!
Trust me, the day Allah knows you are ready to handle what you have been asking for in your duas, He will answer them beautifully. Sometimes, we keep asking for something while we are actually not ready to handle it, but Allah knows. So, prepare yourself, and keep making dua.
Alhamdulilah for this year , with all its high and lows, we survived days we thought we wouldn't, and Allah carried us through moments we didn't think we were strong enough for. May Allah bless the year ahead with ease , barakah, and abundance blessings.
