@TheSocialCTV warning about company culture can backfire. They may misinterpret what you mean and you can be seen as the troublesome or even terminated for critiquing and criticizing the organization or leadership. Tred carefully!
@fahmidakamali@aishaafua No joke. Struggling with the “how do I want to impact the world” and “how do I keep my family alive” at the same time. How to do both.
I have had more than one male colleague sincerely ask whether a certain behavior is mansplaining. Since apparently this is hard to figure out, I made one of them a chart.
@LadyDembai @globalnews@GlobalEdmonton I understand what you’re saying because I would, and did, in the 2016 mat leave pilot. That being said I also know many who wouldn’t.
@WomensMarchCDA Awareness. I never knew what I never knew. I never wanted to be in STEM. It wasn’t “my thing”. Now I couldn’t imagine anything more fascinating. Nor more stabilizing and lucrative for my family.
@WomensMarchCDA even with men there was a stigma re STEM. It was for nerds. Now with more equality, women have choice. Why choose to be a nerd? No one in high school wants to be a nerd. Plus IT is overlooked when working. It’s expected, not that someone is actually working to have your tech work
@WomensMarchCDA Remove stigma, work with @GirlsWhoCode to come to Canada, more awareness of the available bursaries for women, more awareness of the types of problems that can be solved and type of work there is. It’s not bill nye. It’s solving the opioid crisis.
@chrissyfarr Have Epidemiologists and other experts work with IT Analysts and Data Analysts to decide what data can be harvested and what correlations can be found. Prescription rates by age, location, demographics. Speed vs cost of service. Frequencies. But first, standardize data practices
@sandraruttan @TheView@HillaryClinton@BillClinton Literally the opposite they would praise him for being a devoted husband or some bullshit. Feminism is about choice not about rules.
@WomensMarchCDA Bring @GirlsWhoCode to Canada. Work with government policy makers for basic income guarantees and free educational programs, even post secondary. Fight for transparent salary practices. Look to Scandinavian countries for ideas.
@globalnews@GlobalEdmonton I mathed my family members situation. Income 0, four kids under five, single parent, $17,000 for gbi, $32,000 for ccb, plus provincial asst, discounted housing and child care, hasnt worked in 10 years has nearly $50,000 income and half my expenses. Not cool. Working the system.
I am so sick of people calling this cute. This is the epitome of the daily gender inequality girls face. We need more men like @bconnolly8 , the hero this little girl needed. Thank you @NHL for the reminder things still need to change. #FutureAllStar#Bossy@LeanInOrg https://t.co/DKGB117ySz
@ZaynaKhayat @pajerry @NathLePro@IBMWatsonHealth@MaRSDD That being said, the greatest positives of technology with health innovation is that as long as you have internet you can have access. & just because you dont have access doesnt mean you cant reap the benefits of the studies.
@globalnews@GlobalEdmonton This is the justice system putting a precedent on marijuana causing psychosis, nothing more. This whole case is a referencing scapegoat for future cases to fight against legal marijuana. To punish those who use. #WhatAJoke
