It was the deepest honor to present @Oprah with the #CecilBDeMille award this #GoldenGlobes. It was an even bigger honor to hear these words in person. I’ve listened to this on repeat & her words & their meaning are more potent every time. I bid you to share! #MondayMuse#MeToo
This is how cultures of abuse are built, in all industries. Wonder why women have suffered in silence for so long, creating their own support networks in the shadows? Look no further than our stained White House, which should be setting an example but is instead putrid. #MeToo https://t.co/jCz8jgD6Ws
I stand with women across every industry to say #TIMESUP on abuse, harassment, marginalization and underrepresentation. Join me! Sign the statement of solidarity & donate to the @TIMESUPNW Legal Defense Fund: https://t.co/X90GIZjmEH
What he is saying is a streaming pile of horseshit. No one is using the #MeToo movement to gain "significance". He is deliberately wrong about the movement in an attempt to absolve himself & his buddies of being accountable for deplorable behavior & working conditions. https://t.co/WImoWxay6c
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs The #metoo movement was built off the momentum of other social movements that have made a big impact in people's lives and will continue to build to help working women around to the world.
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs We need tensions to be high so changes will be made. We need to show how things are bad right now, but they can get better. We need other movements to help future generations not go through what we go through. Movements will never make progress if the world was seen as perfect.
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs Today tensions are very high in the US, especially ever since Trump's election. His presidency has angered a lot of social movements and has intensified their actions made for change, movements involving women.
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs The more social movements make more people think about 'what else is wrong that we can potentially change?' This is how the #metoo got so much attention, similar movements feed off and support each other
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs There has been over 80 female celebrities that have made sexual harassment allegations against, film producer, Harvey Weinstein. Saying that all of the these women are lying and trying to ruin Mr. Weinstein is far-fetched, especially if it was a 'known secret' kept by Hollywood.
@Women_InJobs@nometoo__ Celebrities have one of the most heard and powerful voices in the United States. They can use their voices on social media and televised speeches. Also, celebrities tend to be role models, so they inspire others to become part of this movement if they are apart of it too.
@Women_InJobs@nometoo__ When social media is used in the proper way it can greatly benefit a cause and get more people on board to push for change. If more people are apart of the movement, people will have a harder time ignoring it. That is how the "Me Too" movement become known worldwide
@nometoo__@____metoo Many people do abuse social media, but that does not make it any less powerful. Our president has a Twitter and his tweets are often not appropriate to what he wants to say.
@Women_InJobs@nometoo__ Social media gives many people a chance to voice their beliefs and allows people to see the physical/visual journey of the movement
@nometoo__@Women_InJobs The power of social media has greatly increased and has been used to spread the word of change. A lot of people have social media, using social media includes everyone and raises awareness. Many politicians have social media and use it to promote their ideas/beliefs.
