@DustyGees@g_bflo@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland You didn’t prove anything—you just kept stretching the argument. I never said Buffalo represents Toronto or that it’s in Ontario. You’re the one taking “Buffalo has ties to Canada” and turning it into “Buffalo is Canadian,” which is not what was said at all.
@DustyGees I said is NYC is a city and NewYork is a state, the Bills are in New York State not Canada You’re the one moving goalposts and rewriting my point every time it falls apart. At this point you’re not even debating me you’re debating whatever version of the argument you just made up
@DustyGees You keep changing the argument every time it gets shut down. First it was “the Bills are Canadian,” then it became “Buffalo is closer to Toronto than NYC,” then “Buffalo doesn’t match NYC culture,” and now it’s “you said we all cheer for NYC teams,” which I never said.
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland I never said the Bills represent all of New York or that we all cheer for NYC teams. All I said is NYC is a city and New York is a state. The Bills are in New York State, not Canada. You keep changing what I said because your original point doesn’t work.
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland Having similar food and brands doesn’t make two places the same. By that logic half of America is basically Mexico because we eat tacos
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland You’re arguing against a point nobody made. Buffalo can be culturally closer to Toronto than the Bronx and still be New York. Last I checked, Ontario didn’t annex Buffalo.
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland Nobody’s arguing Buffalo is culturally identical to NYC. But saying Buffalo is more Canadian than New York because Toronto is nearby is like saying El Paso is more Mexican than Texan because it’s next to Mexico.
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland You’re acting like NYC is the entire state of New York. It isn’t. Buffalo doesn’t have to be like NYC to be New York. Being close to Canada doesn’t make Buffalo more Canadian than New York—it literally is New York.
@DustyGees@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland No one said Buffalo isn’t close to Canada. Being near Canada doesn’t make a team Canadian. Bills play in New York, are based in New York, and represent Western New York. Blue Jays playing temporary home games in Buffalo during COVID doesn’t suddenly make Buffalo Canadian either.
@Dark37069942@HamlinIsland The Bills play in New York, are headquartered in New York, and represent New York. Having Canadian fans doesn’t make them Canadian. Don’t matter who they show support to
