WE WON the first AI animation competition! I cannot thank the wonderful team @CuriousRefuge@LumaLabsAI and @promise_ai enough! I’m overwhelmed and immensely happy!
Here's a peek into @HalWatmough 's (@___Edit9) filmmaking workflow in @capcutapp 🎬
This clip of Shona was built frame by frame - starting with a character reference image generated in Nano Banana, fed into an agent as the first frame, then iterated with cinematic prompts: handheld, dynamic, specific lighting and camera preferences.
The magic is in the back-and-forth. You see what works, give feedback, get suggestions, and fine-tune, without rolling from scratch every time. The agent holds all your references so your vision stays consistent throughout.
This is what AI-assisted storytelling looks like in practice. ✨
Something big is on the way 📷

This week's #FlowSessions Artist Spotlight is BAFTA-winning filmmaker, Hal Watmough @___edit9!
🎬 His film, "Don’t Worry, You've Been Here Before," is an ambitious one-shot experiment of a man trying to escape his daily routine, only to spiral into an animated apocalypse.
💡 Flow Tip: Use @GeminiApp as your sounding board. Hal loaded his script and concept art into Gemini to create a project-aware "Assistant Director." When certain ideas hit technical walls, he brainstormed alternative solutions with Gemini to rapidly iterate on concepts that kept his narrative intact while playing to Flow's specific strengths.
Super excited to announce the fourth filmmaker in our Beyond the Loop lineup 🔥

Excited (and a bit stunned) to be invited into Google Flow Sessions.
After just over a year of GenAI filmmaking this feels like a huge milestone.
Looking forward to learning, collaborating, and seeing what comes out the other side.
I’m so happy and proud to say that my film, Repair, that I made back in May, has been selected for the @MashupFilmFest and @AIFJ2025. It will be screening at the 500-seat PATHÉ Cinema in Louvain-la-Neuve on 13th Oct at 8pm 🥳 Thank you so much!

@EricKerArt@joshrottenberg Are you an editor also?!! Yeah he’s a great writer and it’s a great series. This is the third installment. Well worth going back and checking them all out.
I’m incredibly grateful to be featured in the LA Times.
A thoughtful, nuanced article about change, uncertainty and creativity in the industry, written by the amazing @joshrottenberg
