Dear Prof. Taiwo Oyedele @taiwoyedele,
Chairman, Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee
Request for Inclusion as Youth & Student Tax Reform Content Partner
Compliments of the season, and Happy New Year. I hope this message finds you in good health as you continue the impactful work of steering Nigeria’s fiscal and tax reform agenda.
My name is Izehiuwa Fortune Olaye, a 600-level Medical Student at the University of Benin, an educator, polymath and basic finance advocate. I write to respectfully request consideration to join the Tax Reform Content Creation Team, particularly to represent the interests and education of the student and youth community.
For the last six days, from December 26, 2025, I voluntarily began educating the public on social media about the new tax policy. Within this short timeframe, my content has reached over 2 million views, with 1.6M on TikTok alone and over 500,000 on Instagram. These are purely organic engagements driven by public hunger for clarity and accessible information.
My social platforms include:
TikTok: https://t.co/O3OCxUZdHT
Instagram: https://t.co/V0O89gIfr7
My initial intention was also to participate in the Student/Undergraduate Challenge, though there has not yet been public visibility or progress on that initiative.
Given the scale of attention and evident need for youth-friendly communication, I am willing and ready to contribute more formally by:
Leading student-focused tax awareness campaigns nationwide
1. Mobilizing and partnering with student unions, associations and clubs
2. Leveraging my network as former National Secretary-General of the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association
3. Collaborating with government and non-government stakeholders to ensure accurate tax information reaches the grassroots
With adequate support from the Committee,
I believe young Nigerians can be meaningfully engaged and empowered to better understand and comply with tax reforms.
Thank you for considering my request. I would be honoured to contribute to this historic national effort and I look forward to a positive response.
Warm regards,
Izehiuwa Fortune Olaye
