#Epic - First Semester, presented as director Aditya Haasan’s POV, starts off as a cool and breezy college rom-com set in the UK. The first half captures cute romantic moments and also tries to explore topics like student life and physical intimacy. A few comedy notes land, making it a passable watch. Dialogue writing through out the film deserves a special mention too.

The problem starts in the second half, where the characters begin to behave out of nowhere. Their actions fail to create interest or empathy, and the situations do not connect with the viewer emotionally. All of this happened in the second half because of the director’s decision not to dramatise the real events. Unfortunately, this approach worked against the film and in the second half, the audience get restless.

Though the director presents the film as his POV, it does not fully engage us with the main character or make us feel his perspective. At the same time, the film does not give enough space to understand the POV of the other characters either. This makes the second half feel tiring and disconnected.

Overall, Epic - First Semester starts on a promising note but loses its emotional connect in the second half due to weak characterisation and an inconsistent narrative.

Expected much more. Making, DQ, fights&BGM are good, but the plot execution feels underwhelming. Pepe & Kayadu portions are way too lengthy.

Second half gets into a typical Telugu template with predictable drama and routine scenes.
Overall, an average, watchable one
