@MarkusvonRoder@St4rK33p3r@ZoomerHistorian This doesnโt address what I said.
The Nazi navy was debilitated, and Hitler wanted to invade England, and would have if things went his way in the Battle of Britain.
The Germans viewing the English as racial cousins doesnโt disprove this.
@MarkusvonRoder@St4rK33p3r@ZoomerHistorian He only delayed it indefinitely because they lost the Battle of Britain. Had he succeeded, he would have proceeded with an amphibious invasion of Britain. So your pointing out the โindefinite delayโ is maliciously decontextualised.
@KnightOfBeowulf@classicspilled There hasnโt been a monarch of political sway since Queen Anne. She couldnโt control that.
Also, the end of the British Empire was then an inevitability. The same happened to every colonial empire after WWII.
Read a good history book and youโll be under the same impression.
@Italian347 Thereโs also this fwiw:
โKing of the Romans (Latin: Rex Romanorum; German: Kรถnig der Rรถmer) was the title used by the king of East Francia following his election by the princes from the reign of Henry II (1002โ1024) onward.โ
Interesting tidbit.
@Italian347 Being an ex-mormon myself, missionaries make me sad.
Young men losing their earliest years of adulthood because theyโre told itโs their duty to serve a mission; if you donโt, thereโs a stigma.
Itโs hard to leave too. May God guide all those befuddled by Joseph Smithโs legacy.
@eeldenden@PlagueEnjoyer How does it not make sense to recognise the differences between nation states?There is no reason Bulgaria and Ireland and Estonia and Portugal should have the same government.
