@whelfordian Somewhat related: I’ve been reading a history of English farming 1939-1985 and it’s fascinating to fill in the financial/technological gaps that I only partly knew about. It’s a dry book, but with a lot in it.

@dairychris I’m going to leave it until the dealers have a spare in, then have a poke. Thank you for the suggestion though, that sounds like a good place to start
@dairychris It’s really bothering me. I can’t see any obvious damage to the PCB but that doesn’t mean anything. A replacement is expensive and I can’t gauge whether this failure means it will die on me on Christmas Eve!
@NorthleazeFarm It is some code which you can use to read datastream files as part of another computer program.
On its own it has little use, but can be used to create a bigger tool.
@Sambrondanw Have you already seen this image on failure rates? It’s useful to try and think where you are on the curve at a given time.
Eg. Keep warranty for first part, accept(?) the middle and try to replace before the third part really bites.
When you want to put another cut of silage on top of an earlier cut but can’t be arsed to take the sheet off….🙄 The joys of being a new farm manager ! #whatwillwefindnext#teamdairy
