The real ‘Marcel’ is/was a (now passport-less) Belgian national. We have no idea if he is still alive, where he is now and if he’s aware there is a song about him. Marcel, are you out there? The track is a great example of the rich characters that came to inhabit their world.

'Marcel' was inspired by Stephen & Audun finding a passport in the pocket of a jacket at a charity shop. Originally titled ‘David Seaman’ due to the passport owner’s resemblance to the England goalkeeper of choice in the 90s, the title was later changed to ‘Marcel’.
