New York State has ordered cosmetology and hairstyling schools to teach kinky, coily, and curly hair care, with the updated curriculum required to be implemented by September 2026.
Ngl humans shouldn't always stay at home, even if you have nothing to do. Because staying at home for too long makes the brain become dull and leads to overthinking. You'll have more negative emotions. Psychology calls this state mental rumination. Most of the time, people who stay at home long term are not physically lazy - but mentally exhausted. You increasingly do not want to go out or see people. Even going to the supermarket downstairs to buy a bottle of water feels troublesome. You start to get used to being in a daze alone, scrolling through your phone and staying up late. Then you repeatedly struggle with yourself in an empty room. You think you're resting. But in fact, you're quietly draining the vitality of life. Your brain needs stimulation. Movement. Connection. Without it, your thoughts turn inward and spiral. The longer you isolate, the harder it becomes to break the pattern.
Adulting has humbled me a lot . I finally understand why so many adults stop posting on social media or even deactivate their accounts. Life feels so much peaceful when everything isn't on display. Like they say , out of sight, out of mind.. There's something really comforting about people not knowing every detail of your life.
this girl on TikTok said, "take care of yourself so you don't become a hater when you see a woman doing better than you." … & she was right. a lot of women don't realize the hate they throw at other women is really unhealed envy. you’re not mad at her, you're mad because she's doing what you keep saying you'll do but haven't had the discipline, mindset, or courage to start.
I think if we keep chasing nostalgia we'll never find the spark that led to eras/aesthetics like this in the first place. Creatives need to be experimenting again.
