A summary of how a discord bot led to https://t.co/bjWzTJGPLm and then theMiracle & Fairside.

I had never worked on a startup, or even a project that went beyond my laptop's folders. Prior to Degenz, I had an itch to build something, anything, but didn't know where to start.

In the summer of '21, when Parker showed me https://t.co/bjWzTJGPLm (now @DegenzNFT), I immediately realized that he was onto something. Not only was the idea potent, but Parker was (and still is) one of the most cracked people I've met - I knew working with him made sense.

A few months in, I had an idea that Parker's project would benefit from having a Discord bot in every server to help market it. This only occurred to me because my first independent project was a crypto bot for a personal Discord, and I knew Discord was popular in crypto.

After building that, I asked Parker if I could help improve some other parts of the site. Luckily, he gave me his trust, and onboarded me as his co-founder. I'm eternally grateful to him for allowing me to jump onto Flips. Not only did we learn how to build together, but we became brothers throughout this process.

Within a few months, we joined forces with @rektmando and @osf_rekt who were instrumental in building a community and brand around Flips. Eventually, we realized our synergies made the most sense by merging Flips with Degenz, resulting in @DegenzNFT. Major shoutouts to the whole @CanaryLabsXYZ team for growing Degenz and keeping it alive for a while.

During that time, we released Flips Pro, and the Flips Gold Pass that eventually evolved into Degenz Code. Although the utility of Flips/Degenz didn't work out as expected, I genuinely learned a lot, and the entire process was authentic. I want to thank everyone that believed in us. There were various angles or paths for Degenz to evolve into, but none of them manifested in a mature way. The portfolio tool seemed promising, but it never was able to persist beyond a small project.

It is without a doubt, that if Parker and I were given the same opportunity again today, tech-wise it would be much different (in a better way). We were learning while building, and our skills have significantly improved. Again, much love to every single Degenz/Flips user.

As time progressed, Degenz's PMF faded, and each branch of our team started to focus their efforts else where. I tried to find some new b2b business angles but nothing materialized. In the final inning, we worked hard to find a proper home: @RugRadio. Now, I can confidently say this is a great outcome for the Degenz community.

So where am I now?

Before the hand off, in my spare time, I tried building and developing Push with @guo_dini and Evan, a social media app meant to just create spontaneous hangouts. It was a cool idea but didn't really have legs to run due to various reasons.

Simultaneously, I was speaking with a few companies, trying to find an organic sponsor for Degenz. If we were to have another company featured on our site, I wanted it to be one that would actually be beneficial to our users, one that I would vouch for. That is when the first seeds were planted with @FairsideNetwork. In the summer of '24, @berndawgler introduced me to them. That is when I learned they were building a crypto retail coverage platform. It was a relief to see people building products that were high ROI for the space.

Over the next 5 months, I would chat with @Fairside_Hogue and TJ - where would I learn more about the product and build trust.

In parallel, @danicerullo reached out to me in Sept '24 to inquire about integrating @themiracle_io's api for perks & benefits into Degenz. After an hour call of getting to know Danilo and the product, it made complete sense to do so. However, during that time as well, I knew that Degenz was ending. For a few months, my head was in "find new methods of income" mode as I knew our runway would be drying up soon, so I asked them if I could upgrade a part of their site in exchange for some money. Danilo and @vu_d gave me a test trial run that then morphed into an advisory and software engineering role. I have become increasingly confident about how theMiracle can transform Web3 marketing.

As I started to work part-time at tM, conversations with @FairsideNetwork were still happening as I was genuinely curious to learn more about the product. Eventually, Andrew asked me to join and I was eager to do so. This also morphed into a part-time role.

I know - two part-time roles sounds like a doozy. Both @themiracle_io and @FairsideNetwork know, and they're supportive. Eventually, it may make sense to focus on one, but right now, I'm in my 20s, no kids, dedicated to building, and have the ability to grind out long hours for both. Yea, it's a lot of work, but so far, it's been working out well.

I don't know where this road will lead me, as I felt with Flips/Degenz the whole time, but I'm excited and only looking forward 6 months at a time.

I've met some cool people during this time, outside of the ones mentioned above, such as @WinzyNFT, @berndawgler, @__classyy__, @carlg_dev and others.

Thanks again to everyone in this process - my gf, my family, Parker, @rektmando, @osf_rekt, @pencharliee, Andrew, @danicerullo, @vu_d, and friends. There are many, but it's hard to name all.

I know this isn't a post where we sold a company for millions, but I'm very proud of where I am, what we built, and what will be built.

I had connected to a website, but rejected all transactions and for each rejection it made an approval.

Just got drained from xstats .fi. Do not click connect. Intrigued by the leaderboard I connected wallet, when numerous fishy transactions appeared I clicked reject on 3 of them, and was instantly drained of PEPE and USDC in my wallet on ETH network.
