✅Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have all signed and ratified the Protocol establishing the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights in Arusha, Tanzania. They are also among the African states that have accepted the Court’s jurisdiction to receive applications directly from individuals and NGOs.

✅These three countries formally notified the United Nations of their intention to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) in June 2026. Their withdrawals are due to take effect in June 2027.

✅THE BIG QUESTION IS THIS: WHAT ROLE SHOULD AFRICA’S OWN JUDICIAL INSTITUTIONS PLAY IN PROTECTING AFRICANS AND ENSURING ACCOUNTABILITY?

✅Africa must strengthen its continental justice mechanisms, defend the rights of its people and ensure that justice is applied fairly, consistently and without political selectivity.

✅AFRICAN JUSTICE MUST BE STRONG, CREDIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO AFRICANS! 🌍✊🏿
