Sometimes I feel like we’re all being given ‘the public school experience’. The language, the gestures, the sports references, the general rip-roaring, raring to go enthusiasm. Feels infantilising and tone deaf to me. Am I alone?
I say this cautiously but I think the tone of British reports about deaths & lockdown in Italy a month ago was more alarmed & urgent than reports of more daily deaths & a less effective lockdown here now. It’s deeply disturbing & I don’t understand it. Is it just partisan bias?
Good news. Boris Johnson and Prince Charles will soon be immune, and able to return to the intensive care front line. There they will be able to share their expertise on how they managed to get tested.
This is really odd. Chris Whitty, the CMO, said he had symptoms & would self-isolate for 7 days. But the rest of the world says 14 days. Does our British exceptionalism make us exceptionally less infectious?
