I do not want to take Mica’s last decision away from her. This was a woman on a mission. She left home with a braid in her hair while wearing all black. Confidently walked into the pawn shop to purchase a firearm. Even smiled while she did it. She googled state park’s nearby and went for her last drive, parked her car, and then walked a mile to the location of her death. Mica called 911 calmly to make sure that her family would be able to find her body after she shot herself. This was not the first time she held a gun to her head. I have seen her testimony about another time.

In that moment, Mica Miller saw this as her only way out. The only way to escape an abuser that would not stop tormenting her. She had enough. That alone made it all seem worth it. I wish another way would have presented itself to her when she needed it the most.
