The longer I go without something, the easier it gets to accept never having it again. I adjust. I detach. And once I really let go of a person or situation, there’s no circling back, once I do, it’s permanent. I don’t revisit what I had to fight myself to walk away from. When I’m done, I’m done for real.
A lesson I learned this year is that a person's capacity for growth is directly linked to how much truth they can face about themselves without running away.
