It’s time for people to get off their high horses about Apple’s digital advertising push.

- Apple’s privacy approach to digital advertising should be applauded by both users and those taking out such ads as their customers’ privacy is being respected.

- Revenue from ads in Apple News / News+ goes to publishers. If that upsets you, you are the problem.

- Ads in Apple Maps is actually super intriguing and can be a game-changer for small business owners when it comes to getting in front of potential customers.

- Going after Apple for showing what could be legitimate money saving promotions in Apple Wallet isn’t it.

Given industry shortcomings, Apple should have actually been pushing harder with digital advertising in recent years. Executives are correcting that mistake.

I also think Apple should be doing a lot more advertising for their own services and apps within the ecosystem. Customers benefit from having greater awareness of what is available from Apple. Management is nervous though such promotion would trigger regulation/legal pushback.

Apple needs to bring back the iPod, updated for today’s world. Not as a nostalgia product, but as a simple, focused device for people who want music, podcasts, and audiobooks without social media, endless apps, calls, notifications, or the entire internet attached to it.

new buttons look nicer but this screams cheap. ok you pull it and it stretches but come on.. you shouldn’t be able to do that. I think they should be super solid and anchored to the window. If anything they should be inlayed rather than floating above like this
