Memang gila...

Small business hotel in Fukuoka. Breakfast was included but nothing special, just buffet style in a small room.
The first morning I went down, filled my plate, and sat alone. Pretty standard.
The second morning, there was a small note at my table. In English: "Good morning! We noticed you like tamagoyaki. We made extra today. Enjoy!"
I did like tamagoyaki. I got a lot of it yesterday. But didn't realize anyone was paying attention.
Third morning, another note: "Good morning again! The miso soup is especially good today. The chef used a new recipe."
Fourth morning: "Good morning! We hope you slept well. Enjoy your last breakfast with us. Safe travels!"
It was my last day. I hadn't told anyone at the front desk that I was checking out today. They just knew from the reservation.
Went to the front desk to check out. The breakfast server was there. She was the one writing the notes.
I thanked her for them. She looked happy. "You read them? I wasn't sure. Some guests don't notice."
I asked why she did it. She said "breakfast is the same every day. Boring. But if I write a note, maybe breakfast feels special. Maybe the guest remembers this hotel."
She said she writes notes for guests who eat breakfast alone. "Business travelers are always alone. Eating alone is sad. Note makes me feel less alone."
I asked if the hotel asked her to do this. She said "no, that's my idea. I just like making people feel noticed."
I told her it worked. I'd remember this hotel because of her notes.
She smiled. "Good. That is why I do it."
