Yes Iâll admit
That post about Caesarian section triggered me
Because Iâm a woman who was in labour for 40 hours
I was given the maximum dose of oxytocin three times to induce labour and did not dilate beyond 2cm
I was so mentally prepared to push out a human but my body just wouldnât
Which one should I talk about?
The intense pain ripping through me every few minutes?
Should I talk about how excruciating it is to have doctors check you for dilation while youâre actively in labour?
Should I talk about the exhaustion?
Should I talk about how that when those who have vaginal delivery have long forgotten CS moms are still grappling with wounds and pain and numbness and tingling from the anaesthetsia?
I had my baby in Canada and the nurses kept asking me if I wanted a pain relief
I did not want any drug to interfere
I was ready to bear the pain and I did
I think I have the most supportive husband in the world. He stood there every second with me. Holding my hand. Wincing as Pain coursed through me
But he did not feel the pain. Not the physical one.
I did.
So has every woman who has gone through this
When the doctors saw that my contractions were not the âgood typeâ, they said I could get a uterine rupture, I had to be taken for a CS.
And everyday Iâm grateful to God for the miracle of a CS
That a mother who has given her all can still have her baby and they both be fine
So sir, when you have had contractions for 40 hours
When you have had 7 layers of your body sliced open so you can bring forth children
When you have gone months nursing a wound that is layers deep
When youâve been placed on a cold surgical table and cut 7 layers deep
For some 4 times.
Then come back and have this Conversation with me
Thank God for your mother and the long line of women in your family that had vaginal deliveries.
But no two women are the same.
Donât put that burden on the woman you would marry.
A CS is not a shortcut
A CS does not make a woman weak
A CS does not happen because you did not pray enough or youâre unlucky
A CS is a medical miracle so that women like me especially pre term moms, can come out alive from the mystery that is pregnancy and childbirth
Blessings.
One thing I struggled with as I landed in Canada was purchasing
Yes, like to buy stuff
My head would not just stop conversion of Dollar to Naira
When I want to buy âsweetâ and I see $3 the Nigerian in me would quickly do the math
And Iâm like âhow can I be licking sweet of 5000 naira?
How can I eat biscuit of 15,000 in one sitting??
On and on it went
It was such a struggle
I had to repeatedly tell myself,
âyouâre not in Nigeria and this is not naira you want to spendâ
It took a while but my brain switched
And the Holyspirit brought something powerful to my heart
Child of God, can I preach to you today ????
âââââââââââââââââ-
This happens to a lot of us
When you come into Christ, the Bible tells us that âfor He that is in Christ is a new creature, old things are passed away and all things have become newâ
Sometimes, our minds have lived in Babylon for too long
And so even after you come to Christ, it doesnât want to change
You keep doing âconversionsâ
Your lips still want to talk like the Babylonians
The sounds of Egypt are still ringing in your ears
Your spiritual reality has changed but your mind is stuggling to catch up
And this discourages a lot of people because they are confused at what is happening
Thatâs why the Bible says â And be ye Renewed by the transformation of your mindâ
The devil is still lying to you and reminding you of your guilt
Evil spirits still want to come and torment you at night
You need the WORD
You need to be loaded and soaked in Godâs word
You identity has changed
Your location has changed because youâre now seated with Christ in heavenly places
You need to constantly renew that mind in the word
And tell the devil , my address has changed
I know I was so bad
I know Iâve made mistakes
But Jesus calls me new now and so Iâm new in Christ
When the devil wants to shout his lies to you, scream back the truth of Gods word!
Send that devil back to hell!
I remain your Sister in Christ.
After I do laundry, I love to give my washing machine and the dry a good wipe down with disinfectant
Few days ago, I was doing this
Like I was taking my time, wiping and wiping and singing in the Holyghost
I was just feeling myself
When I was done, I decided to turn on the light in the laundry room to inspect my hard work
As I peeped inside the machine, I just saw that all there were still splotches of stain here and there
I was shocked because I took my time to go inch by inch
How come I missed these many spots?
That was when the Holyspirit started lecture
And before you say, âSister Debbie, how come you were cleaning in the darkâ?
Nope, I wasnât. The light in the corridor was on and so the place was well lit
Or so i thought
The Holyspirit just told me âThis is why you should turn on YOUR OWN LIGHTâ
The laundry room had its own light but i felt that the corridor light would suffice
So many of us are like this. We love to use other peopleâs light
We love to hear others share their experiences with God
We love to read others write about what God showed them
And we think being inspired by others is enough
What about your own light?
What is God telling you?
So what happens when the other personâs light goes off?
How will you see?
Other peopleâs fire should only be ginger for you to light your own
Dear child of God,
TURN ON YOUR OWN LIGHT!
Youâll be amazed about how much spots you have missed.
Recapping the joy experienced in HC earlier today. I am smiling at God and His awesomeness.
I have so missed "Ogima, come back here don't go!!!".
