@ostonox@CliffConnolly i really don’t think most are aware that Steyer has been fighting the good fight for a long time, and he’s only shifted more and more left over time.
he’s genuinely like the single best strategic ally the left could have right now
@CliffConnolly@ostonox Garland Fund. It’s happened before, and it was objectively a great thing for leftist progress in the US
Engels was also a very rich man funding Marx’s writing with no strings attached.
It’d be very foolish to turn down game-changing money.

@jojobollag@curaffairs@amazonlabor No disrespect to CA? They deserve all of the criticism for this fawning, puff piece interview of a career activist that got removed from his own union
I’ve watched CA slowly drift into… whatever this is, but this is the interview that finally convinced me to unsubscribe
@NathanJRobinson why on earth are you guys giving this poser free publicity? he’s actively harmful to unionization efforts, he just wants to be a career activist.
Did y’all bother to do any research? Maybe ask him about being removed from his own union?
Embarrassing, unsubscribing
@TimApplebj@vikdeadgens@sclv The difference is that AOC actually has policy and electoral wins, while also continuing to normalize leftist rhetoric to the masses.
Smalls has… really achieved nothing besides photo ops, he threw away his union’s progress to pursue his own activism career
@TimApplebj@vikdeadgens@sclv because having the most visible labor leader in the country starting stupid twitter arguments caused by his own ego is bad for optics
most people don’t know enough to know that Smalls should be taken with a large grain of salt, or just ignored entirely at this point
@MoritzW42 That’s 100% on the engineers if they are uploading customer data or sensitive IP to LLMs without a ZDR enterprise agreement
Really silly to blame the frontier tool that is clearly WIP
@vikdeadgens@sclv Business Insider did some investigations already, they talked to numerous members of his union
He also clearly was cool with Biden, because Biden was inviting him to the white house for photo ops… which is laughable from a consistency standpoint
@vikdeadgens@sclv His top priority is clout, and he’s just not a very principled or smart guy.
Not to say everything he’s done is bad, and I don’t even think he’s even a bad actor, he’s just 1000% the wrong person for any kind of activist or labor work
@vikdeadgens@sclv well his social media crash outs are the reason anyone still takes him seriously, including you, I guess.
He muddies the waters with his ego and dishonesty.
Do you care that he was removed from union leadership after his union tried constantly to get him to lead properly?
