Manicaland is also linguistically diverse. Its indigenous languages include chiHwesa, chiNdau, chiBarwe, chiHera, chiManyika, chiUngwe, chiJindwi, chiBocha and chiShangani, among others. And each has its own regional dialects. I am from Makoni; tiri Maungwe who speak chiUngwe, not Manyikas. Calling all these languages as Shona dialects is a misnomer.
