20 years ago, i left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music! Former Absa executive arrested for alleged murder of wife in Somerset West

Jacques Pretorius, a 54-year-old former Absa executive, was arrested in March 2025 in connection with the alleged murder of his wife, 40-year-old Sheri-Ann Pretorius.

The incident took place in 2021 at the couple’s residence in Somerset West, Cape Town. Initially ruled a suicide, Sheri-Ann's death was later reclassified as homicide after a thorough investigation.

Authorities claim that Pretorius strangled his wife and staged the scene to make it appear as a suicide. He was charged with premeditated murder and defeating the ends of justice. Following his arrest, Pretorius appeared in the Somerset West Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail set at R5,000.

The case has been postponed to May 13, 2025, for further investigation.
