Congratulations to CPO O’Neill from the City of Edmonton who received the Alberta Association of Chief's of Police Award for Volunteerism for his commitment to the Edmonton ‘stuff a cruiser’ event.
We believe this is the 1st CPO in history to receive an award from the AACP.
We are happy to announce the North & Central Zone Rep positions have been filled.
Thank you Susie Pestana (North) and Sam Zhao (Central) for stepping up and representing your zones.
Watch for conference registration to be released this week!
For those that are asking and didn't download the April Exec update, our 2026 conference will be back at Lake Louise again due to major renovations at JPL.
Registration and info should be out next week along with an Executive update.
If you see lights flashing at a railway crossing, you must immediately slow to a stop.
Even if it looks like you have time, it’s illegal and is never worth the risk to cross tracks when a train is approaching.
#RSW25#STOPTrackTragedies
Trains run 24/7, 365 days a year, which means any time is train time.
There is never a safe moment to be close to the tracks.

Listen up! It’s Rail Safety Week and Sgt. Jacob Jones has important safety information to share. See Tracks? Think Train® Week.
Year-round we share rail safety knowledge, and this week we are raising awareness and continuing to encourage everyone to always stay safe around tracks & trains.

ABmunis member-municipalities adopted a resolution in 2023 to advocate for @YourAlberta to give Community Peace Officers (CPOs) suffering PTSD the same @WCBAlberta coverage as other police officers. Why? Because 50% of public safety officers have some form of mental health concern. CPOs deserve the same supports for the same issues. @RuralMA@_aacpo
Community Peace Officers encounter trauma in their roles. However, they face barriers when seeking WCB support for PTSD since they’re not considered first responders in legislation.
We partnered with @_aacpo & @ABmunis on an infographic highlighting this: https://t.co/kJ3VaqPzkw
