My lineage is the “ism” everyone seeks freedom from. I am a Brahman (GC), unashamed. In a system of equal votes, the constitution brands me “oppressor-by-birth”
@khurpenchh@DelhiPolice He is on the right track - they know exactly what they are doing. Small-time criminals know that many of the people at the very top of politics used this exact same foolproof playbook to reach power. It’s a time-tested template.
@RahulGandhi To all debating if a resignation will actually solve the problem: we punish crime not bcoz it guarantees crime will vanish forever, but bcoz accountability sends a message.Resignation isn't just about fixing a system,it is a symbolic deterrent that proves actions have consequences

[1/4] One of the people grievously injured during police action on the ‘Sansad March’ on Monday (July 20), 25-year-old Shaikh Irshad Mansoori, underwent surgery at Lady Hardinge Hospital on Tuesday – and appears to have been the victim of a pellet gun or a similar weapon.
For days the streets and parks in the center of India's capital have been seething with the biggest demonstrations it has seen in years as young protesters demand change to a national exam system they say cheats millions of them out of a fair chance.
It was organized by the 'Cockroach Janta Party,' a youth-led movement that began as a joke but has since grown into a political force articulating the frustrations of millions of young Indians. https://t.co/hZta1Tm1sd
Proud of this kid. He seems amazing. Humbly, It feels like your channel is exploiting him to invalidate other kids. Maybe the next time a bridge collapses you could interview someone who took a longer route to work and got promoted. Instead of engineers or people under it.
Delhi Police have sunk to new lows. Yesterday, during a peaceful march, a male officer was caught on camera brutally assaulting a female protestor, hitting her and shoving a lathi into her lower back.
This is criminal, unconstitutional behaviour by a force meant to protect citizens.
We demand that Delhi Police sack the officer immediately. The people of India are watching.
#DelhiPoliceBrutality
Deliberately groping a female protester, hitting her with a baton, and then smirking about it with a colleague...
Absolutely disgusting behavior from this @DelhiPolice police officer. Don’t you have mothers and sisters at home?

#ExpressView | The abundant images yesterday — of thousands of mostly young and mostly peaceful protestors facing barricades and lathi charge and tear gas shells in the heart of the national capital — were stark and dispiriting. They indict the government.
The protestors were reportedly responding to the call of the satirical online platform, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), to march to Parliament. The CJP has been conducting a sit-in protest since June 20 at Jantar Mantar, from where Sonam Wangchuk, fasting since June 28, was forcibly taken to a hospital on Saturday.
But the protestors were arguably responding to more than one fast or one platform. They were rallying behind the issue that is being highlighted — the urgent need to reform a broken education system, beset with exam leaks, delays and irregularities, which leads, in turn, to swelling the ranks of the unemployed. spokespersons of the CJP. It is, of course, far from clear whether the meeting translates into reform and accountability.

But what happened?
> We were denied permission to protest
> Personal attacks by IT Cell

Had the government listened to us then, this entire mess could've been avoided!
Security forces in India’s capital Delhi are cracking down on one of the biggest anti-government protests in recent years.
The authorities should order police to exercise restraint, restore mobile internet connectivity near protests, and ensure people can protest peacefully.
When we watch historical films, we shudder at how the British used Indians to crush fellow Indians. Today, that dark history came alive on the streets of Delhi.
Seeing our own security forces unleash brutality upon women, children, and students is a painful betrayal.
