I used to date someone who knew how to properly punctuate when texting.
I was the better and more articulate speaker between the two of us, but they were the better writer.

Anyway, I found it very commendable, so much so that I started to consciously add the right punctuation when texting them too.

Trust me, it was cute, especially as they were just being themselves and did not mind how I sent my message to them, provided it was legible and readable.

But… ladies and gentleman. ‘Guirls’ and girls. Boys and ‘bouys’. Do not be fooled. It still ended in tears.🙂

Apparently, proper punctuation is the only thing they could consciously commit to in this life.

Stay wicked and single.

Dear beloved sports-loving Nigerian youths,

After watching the performances of Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema at the opening of the 2026 World Cup—at a time when Nigeria, the giant of Africa, is absent—I felt a measure of consolation. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth.

You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead.

It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire.

In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18—enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future.

I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender.

You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership.

If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation.

Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future.

I appeal to you to register and vote. Your vote can shape who becomes the next President of our country.

My young friends, this is your country. Take it back.

The NDDC spends $8 million annually on foreign scholarships for 200 of its people, though I feel it is excessive.

SEDC spends nothing on education.

Even ₦16.6 billion cannot be accounted for. No plans for railways, nothing for the region aside from conferences and photo ops. N159 million for annual office rent in Abuja. Kai!!

ISEE is so transparent that every kobo is accounted for publicly.

What it’s like to receive a job offer directly from Satya Nadella. @kelseyhightower, former Google Distinguished Engineer, on the Microsoft offer that revealed a pay tier he didn't know existed:

“I got this email from Satya, the CEO of Microsoft.

He wrote this nice email: 'Kelsey, heard you had a good experience with the team' - remember I did the interview at the Microsoft headquarters - “heard really good things from the team, just wanted to let you know, you're going to be respected here. We're going to support you as a team.”

I'm like, damn, support as a team? Coming from the CEO?

So, number one, what an honor. This is the CEO of Microsoft. He has so many more important things to be doing than to be emailing me about a role. I opened the PDF - not very often in your career does a zero get added to the equation. And so you're looking at this like, I didn't even know that they do that.

We know that it happens. But the person that graduated from high school in 1999, that chose the A+ Certification didn't know that was available. Even while I was at Google having all the success. Google paid me pretty well too, but I didn't know you can add another zero still.

And I'm like, wow. I showed my wife and she was the one that said you should just go interview, like put your ego to the side and let's go see what's out there, so shout out to my wife.

And so I get the PDF, and I'm like, okay, this number is perfect. Honestly, I don't know what to say, but let’s just find out, is this really the only number? So I remember giving a counter: you know what, I think it should be this.

The funny thing is, Microsoft countered back higher, like we're not playing around. I'm like, oh, whoa. Now I understand that I don't understand this part of the game.”
