Be the man who's willing to suffer the pain of discipline. Fix his wallet. Build a great physique. Wear the best clothes. Talk less and mind his own business. I promise you'll go far in life.
This New Year 2024 I remind myself these and share these with you too.
Social media interactions is not your real life. I am learning to slowly and steadily move away and move on.
Everything that happens to you on social media is not what really happens to you in reality. Do not waste time on what others think of you on social media. It doesn't matter.
You have another life, the one which is real and which is deserving of your time and energy - and it's the one outside your phone and computer screens.
The majority of people on social media are strangers to you - they mis-interpret you, mis-represent you, miscalculate your intentions, and look forward to cancelling you, at the slightest chance available because the majority are insecure about something or the other just like we all are. Let your insecurities not blind your critical thinking skills and logical approach to challenges and their rational solutions. You win some, you lose some. It's ok.
Misinterpreted situations, even though unwarranted will force you to be apologetic for no fault of yours. This is classical social media affliction. You deserve so much better than virtual and digital judgements. All of us have gone through this. The learning point is not to take it to heart.
Do not take your interactions on social media to be real. Change what you can, do not try to control what you cannot. Again, the people you interact with on social media are complete strangers. They are not worth your feelings of self oppression, self harassment or selflessness. Nobody cares what you are going through or how you felt.
Be selfless in real life, to the real people you meet, greet and have the chance to impact.
Your positivity is not always taken effectively on social media. You may be insulted, judged, angered and demeaned. It's ok, because that's what strangers do to people they don't know about. But still educate them as much as you can, without gnawing at the time you deserve for yourself.
When you are gone, social media won't ever miss you. But real people in your real life will.
Use social media to make a change in your own way, for the the things you feel right about, that positively impacts others. There are no real arguments or debates. There is no point of it at all. People will misinterpret you anyway. And only the bad ones stick with you, while the greater good part of it stays forgotten.
Do not let interactions on social media affect you in anyway.
In 2024, make this your social media personality
- Be Stoic. Being stoic is being calm and almost without any emotion. When you're stoic, you don't show what you're feeling but you also accept whatever is happening and that which cannot be controlled/ changed.
Have a wonderful 2024.
