My son Nick was discharged mentally ill and homeless from @MissionComHosp on 10/17/22 He is a missing person. Please help! #LPSReform 💔its raining and cold and he doesn’t know how gravely disabled he is! @ginasilvafox11 @latimes@SantaMonicaPD@kathrynbarger
@esmyjimenez Thank you for this. Took my son 12 years of incarceration and hospitals before he finally got help. Still a struggle. My quarter as an RN on mental illness scared the hell out of me. I think fear is what keeps people away. Back then I thought I cld never deal w/this. Then I did.
Still wait-listed at all hospitals we’ve tried. This person needs to start #chemotherapy soon or will die waiting. If this happens, their death will be an uncounted death due to the #COVID19 pandemic’s effect on hospitals. I will not give up. #MedTwitter

I’m not sure we are appreciating @marceelias enough.
We know Sidney Powell and others filed a number of lawsuits in a number of states to try to overturn the election. And we know there are 7 states who had false electors.
Now, we need to know this…Buckle up. A wee🧵👇🏻

Anosognosia is a neurological impairment that affects many people with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Ultimately, it makes it hard for people with mental illness to have insight into their diagnosis or be aware of it. (via @esmyjimenez)

Sadly #MA gets a F as it doesn’t allow an individual in need of involuntary evaluation or treatment to receive timely care, for sufficient duration, in a manner that enables and promotes long-term stabilization #BOSPOLI#MAPOLI https://t.co/bPbr874NLt
This book is a must read for families newly finding themselves having a loved one with a brain illness, SUD or both. She provides the reasons why so many families live with this stress, mostly isolated from help, but also how to move forward. #SMITwitter @JudithRSmithPhd
Getting personal is never easy. When one of your children is diagnosed with a mental illness shock, pain, fear takeover. In this story, I recount our first moment in hopes it helps others. Please know you are not alone.

Excellent advice from @TreatmentAdvCtr ‘s @kday9 for family members who care for and advocate for loved ones living with serious brain illnesses like Schizophrenia & often don’t know they are sick because of the brain illness itself causing Anosognosia.
