Every #RedSox fan who hasn’t seen him play… should know that Franklin Arias is the Sox SS of the Future.
Marcelo Mayer will be 3B or 2B… & this is far out…but I can see him playing some 1B & potentially being an all around utility infielder if he doesn’t regularly take up 2B or 3B…
REGARDLESS…there needs to be serious competition for those 2 spots (2B & 3B) for this #RedSox team to become a World Series contender again…considering the OF will be Anthony/Rafaela/Wilyer moving forward…
And Right Handed Hitters WITH Pop are needed at Fenway…
Which is why I continue to mention #Cubs 3B Matt Shaw and #Twins INF prospect Kaelen Culpepper as Trade Deadline targets for the Sox… & will continue to hope Bo Bichette becomes a free agent this offseason (again) as well.

Willson Contreras in a nutshell: RBI single in the first vs. Will Warren, HR in the third. In the fourth, Warren starts the AB with two fastballs up and out of the zone, the second noticeably more inside than the first (the above photo shown below).
Notice where Contreras was standing on the first pitch.
So what does Contreras do?He moves even CLOSER to the plate with a clear message: “You want to move me off the plate? Well now I’m going to basically stand ON it.”
Warren misses away.
Walk ultimately ensues. Contreras barks. Benches empty. Warnings are issued.
If you ask me, this is part of the reason the Sox should keep Contreras. He’s right-handed. He hits. He’s not afraid. The Red Sox need players like this if they’re ever going to get back to who they were.
Working theory is the new ownership group has asked Brad Stevens to trade Jaylen Brown because they don’t want to give him that 2 year extension for 140 million.
This might be crazy/delusional… but this #RedSox team could make a run!
1. Roman Anthony LF
2. Ceddanne Rafaela CF
3. Luis Arraez DH
4. Willson Contreras 1B
5. Wilyer Abreu RF
6. Caleb Durbin 3B
7. Anthony Seigler 2B
8. Tsung-Che Cheng SS
9. Connor Wong C
Bench:
Nate Eaton INF/OF
Romy Gonzalez 1B/2B/3B/DH
Carlos Narvaez C

One more bat that can be trusted that extends the whole lineup—& no more Duran/Yoshida/Story…. Changes A LOT.
The pitching is there…
I wonder what it would take to land Arraez… I don’t think Arraez would cost a crazy amount & he’d change the energy.
STILL confused why Breslow passed on Arraez & Bichette this offseason…the Offense was 2 bats the team could trust away from being a playoff team…
Breslow landed 1 (Willson) & called it a day & ran it back with players that cannot be trusted on offense or defense & STRIKEOUT at a CRAZY rate (Duran/Story) + a 1 dimensional, boring player (Yoshida) who makes 0 impact & never has.
Can’t wait to see the #RedSox once those 3 players are gone & w/ 1 more bat (that can be trusted) in the lineup.
The difference would be night & day.
Breslow needs to do something if he wants to save his ass 🤷♂️ I don’t know why he would “wait and see.”
If he wants to keep the job, do something crazy & see what happens! Take a risk.
+ with Sonny, Chapman,Willson… it would make sense. 5 Games back of Wild Card…but it’s not realistic or worth it unless a legit bat is added.
Otherwise building for the future is what needs to be done & trades can happen… maybe it ends up only being Chapman traded & that bat is added this offseason.
Who knows. Just spit ballin’

The case for Georgia Tech C Vahn Lackey to go No. 1 overall:
Lackey hit .397/.519/.772 with 20 home runs, 15 stolen bases and more walks (50) than strikeouts (38).
In traditional statistics, Lackey outperformed UCLA SS Roch Cholowsky this year. He hit more home runs, easily topped the UCLA shortstop in all slash line categories and even was a much more prolific and useful basestealer.
The full argument for Lackey, Cholowsky and Emerson:

Hunter “Moon Shot” Goodman!
Rockies are actually a lot better than people think…
Moniak…Goodman…Castro…Carrigg…
They finally have guys to build around. Just no pitching. #Rockies
Tsung-Che Cheng is 24 let’s see what he’s got… Kind of exciting.
It’s time for Masa to go… or they have to trade Duran ASAP… (Both gotta go).
Cheng, Eaton, Seigler, Romy have to be getting the ABs. #RedSox#DirtyWater#Changes
With Romy Gonzalez scheduled to come off the IL and rejoin the MLB team tomorrow, do we get a one-and-done DFA for Tsung-Che Cheng, or do we finally see Roman Anthony transferred to the 60-day IL?
I lean toward keeping Cheng for the time being because I don’t love giving shortstop to Monasterio for any extended period of time.
Glad he’s doing well, but 1st time in his career he’s put up solid numbers,&13 IP is too small of a sample size to go off. If he keeps it up through July then I’ll start thinking that he’s figured something out & maybe he even becomes a trade piece…
W/ that said… I think the bullpen is a bit overrated lol. The starting pitching has been legit…but whenever I see the bullpen really tested it’s been rocky… still rank near top of league in ERA, but I’m not buying it…Just can’t say it’s a bullpen I’d trust in playoffs outside Chapman/Whitlock & wouldn’t settle after this season with what they have now
He’s pitched a GRAND TOTAL of 13 Innings…
THIRTEEN! lol…
I need to see 25 Innings pitched before I can take a relief pitchers work/stats seriously…
#RedSox#RedSoxNation#DirtyWater
The only way I’d trade Jaylen Brown is for:
Lauri Markkanen (or JJJ) & Keyonte George…+ a draft pick or pick swaps…& even then I would never love it…
Brad’s just gotta put an end to this madness…
JB is loved in Boston (maybe not by the old heads on Boston’s sports talk radio)…but he is & he isn’t replaceable… #Celtics
@Sox_Savant 1000% more than Slaten & I’m glad he’s doing well… but I need to see more…
(12+ more Innings pitched w/ the same stuff) to feel it’s not a fluke given how his career has gone. Hopefully July he does well—then he might get some trade interest
