More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
Watching the @NBA All Star game and @TeamUSA at the Winter Olympics, it’s clear that sports — just like music and art — still has the power to bring us together, build community, and remind us of our common humanity.
Nick Van Exel says NOBODY in todays game has Kobes Mentality or Work Ethic 🔥🔥
"Alot of people talk about the Kobe mentality, they don't have that mentality. Like I seen Kobe just work work work work and i've coached in the NBA and guys don't work work work. It kind of upsets me a little bit because i seen what he did on an everyday basis, all the crazy shots that he takes, he works on every single one, just over and over like his work ethic was crazy. I tell people, i played 13 years and played with alot of great players, not one person worked harder than him."
