i am so sick of this shit it's so fucking clear y'all know the pandemic didn't end and the dissonance is harming you and instead of admitting you messed up and fixing it going forward y'all just get on here and whine about how things "feel off". grow up and put on a fucking mask
One of the most ableist things people do is assume every limitation is negotiable.
When someone with a disability or chronic illness says they can’t do something, they’re not asking for permission.
They’re informing you.
yall will look at the state of the world & readily agree that unchecked capitalism is the leading cause of death, destruction, & societal collapse, but when we tell you that the “end” of the pandemic was based on what fucking Delta Airlines wanted—not science—you freak out. Ok
Some of you seem to think this is a strictly Republican phenomenon, but it isn’t. Distrust of collective infrastructure has become bipartisan and increasingly global - why the next pandemic will be such a shit show.
I cannot emphasize enough how important not using AI and avoiding illness are for your brain. My coworker, who relies almost entirely on ChatGPT and is constantly sick, is impossible to work with. It’s like trying to work with a toddler.
Getting ready for a doctor’s appointment should not feel like preparing for a battle. But for so many chronically ill, that seems to be how we are conditioned to feel by constant mistreatment, and frankly, medical abuse.
I’m glad PCOS is being renamed to include the metabolic aspect but I still don’t think it’s going to do much to combat the fatphobia ppl with this condition face.
As long as weight loss is still seen as treatment for metabolic conditions I really don’t think much changes.
now give us better treatment options and doctors who listen to us and don’t just tell us to lose weight and that “everyone has bad periods” please and thanks 🙌
We're living in a world where most people are actively consenting to getting sick
And those who do not consent are constantly violated by those who act like they have the right to infect us
people also think getting sick and being disabled / chronically ill is a moral failing. thats why they think they personally are safe inherently bc they’re “healthy” and “take care of their health”
People keep saying “did we learn nothing from Covid?” and what the ruling class learned is that the masses will happily engage in the politics of disposability when it comes to public health so here we are. Enjoy.
Collectively abandoning vulnerable people during a pandemic is one of the fastest ways to manufacture consent for the disposability of entire populations. Failing to see that connection is part of the problem.
A proposed data center in California's Imperial Valley would need 750,000 gallons of water a day. Satisfying the thirst of 24 more facilities expected to open in the state will be challenging, experts and officials say. (via @insideclimate) https://t.co/kbmllTdiTj
Women are more likely to have their medical conditions psychologized.
We’re told it’s anxiety. Hormones. Part of “being a woman”. Stress. Relationship issues.
We’re forced to suffer in silence while our male counterparts get better, quicker and more efficient care.
