Achievement Unlocked! Signals advance to Stage 1 in TC39.
Big thanks to @JatinRamanathan, @littledan, and @wycats for presenting today.
Lots more work to do during Stage 1, but we're now officially under consideration.
Good programming advice can be taken too far:
DRY - “I don’t repeat anything, ever”
Single responsibility - “Every function I write is one line”
TDD - “I always write the test first and have 100% coverage”
Think of these ideas as a spectrum. The mistakes are at the extremes.
If useEffect is the answer, I'm probably asking the wrong question.
Examples:
"How do I sync state?" Don't. Derive it.
"How do I fetch with plain React?" Don't. Use react-query/swr/etc.
"How do I copy URL values into state?" Don't. Use the URL as the single source of truth.
Props to all developers who understand that each tool has its benefits and drawbacks.
Props to all developers that don’t bash other tools just because they don’t use/like them.
Seeing mature people fight over tools is always off-putting.
Boilerplate projects like Create React App are victims of their own success. 🗡️
They begin as a quick-start solution, but the more people use them, the more complicated they become in trying to fit everyone’s use cases.
Farewell, CRA, you served us well (at the beginning) 👋
React.js documentary is here https://t.co/96DSKpPjJK
Tom’s comment(Presentation driven development) about Dan creating redux was hilarious(fast forward to 1:08:35) 😂

@siddharthkp Also, Apple may not allow this app to be listed on the App store. They clearly mention this on https://t.co/42tLm2zNfn "Your app should include features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website."
@siddharthkp https://t.co/VfUwPQMUwz would be a great fit. https://t.co/lSUahhtpyU is an awesome tool to have a TWA ready to publish on the Play store. You will need to prove that the web content that you open is first-party content, https://t.co/VfUwPQMUwz is a way to do that.

Hello, friends!
We are working on the biggest API change we've had since the day MSW was released. And it's going to be incredible.
We've written a migration guide to showcase the breaking changes:
