@nationalgridus If you had to compete for our business, would you still treat customers this way? We’ve been without gas since Tuesday, repeatedly misled, and told to wait until Sunday. Your customers are TRAPPED relying on you for an essential service. We deserve better. @NYSDPS
@nationalgridus Your treatment of customers is DISGUSTING. You showed a complete disregard for us. We have no choice but to rely on you for gas service, and you know it. When customers have no alternatives, where is your accountability? @NYSDPS@siadvance
@nationalgridus This is what happens when a utility company knows its customers have no other choice. No urgency. No accountability. No concern for families with young children left without gas for days. You know we can’t take our business elsewhere, & you act like it @NYSDPS
@nationalgridus It gets WORSE. My husband asked your representative a hypothetical question: “If it were freezing outside, would you really leave our two young children without heat and do nothing?” Her response? “Basically, YES. Let that sink in. @NYSDPS#nyc
🚨 @nationalgridus WHY has my family, including a toddler and an infant, been left without gas since Tuesday, October 6? It’s now Thursday, and we’re being told we have to wait until SUNDAY, October 11, for an inspection. This is outrageous. @NYSDPS
@nationalgridus PULL THE RECORDED CALLS. Review every promise your employees made. Explain why we were told someone would come when no appointment apparently existed. Customers should not have to fight this hard for an essential utility. @NYSDPS
We have TWO small children at home. My husband and I both work full-time. We cannot take unlimited days off for vague appointment windows or keep rearranging our lives because @nationalgridus cannot provide accurate information or reliable service.
Today, Thursday, we called @nationalgridus AGAIN, only to learn NO ONE WAS EVER SCHEDULED TO COME. We were given false information. Now we’re being told the earliest appointment is OCTOBER 11. How is this acceptable? @NYSDPS
Then @nationalgridus supervisor assured us a technician would come THURSDAY October 8 to inspect and restore our gas. We trusted that information and made arrangements accordingly. Turns out, that assurance meant absolutely nothing.
After repeatedly calling @nationalgridus on October 7, we finally reached a supervisor around 7:30 PM. Despite emergency technicians supposedly being available until 11:59 PM, we were told it was highly unlikely anyone would come. Why??? This is an emergency!
we immediately contacted @nationalgridus. We were told someone would come on October 7 to inspect and restore service. Hours passed. No technician. No phone call. No update. Just silence.
@nationalgridus How is it acceptable to leave a family with two young children without gas overnight? We reported the outage at 2 PM, were promised service today, and after HOURS of calls, we’re now being told to wait until MAYBE tomorrow. Completely unacceptable.
@nationalgridus Your emergency technicians supposedly work until 11:59 PM, yet your supervisor couldn’t explain why no one could come restore our gas tonight. What exactly qualifies as an emergency if a family with two small children having no gas doesn’t? #nyc
@NYSDPS@NYSDPS YOU ARE? Explain why @nationalgrid shut off our gas without proper notice, leaving my baby and 2-year-old without heat on cold NYC nights. HOURS of calls, and no emergency restoration. Who exactly is protecting families like mine? WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?
@NYSDPS Why is @nationalgrid allowed to leave families with infants and toddlers without heat over inspections they say they never notified us about? Where is the urgency? Where is the accountability? Who is protecting #NYC families from this treatment?
@AnnaliseKnudson@nationalgridus we are a Staten Island family with a baby and toddler. We’re left without heat after an unexpected gas shutoff. National Grid promised same-day restoration, never showed up, now expects us to miss work for all-day appointment windows. UNACCEPTABLE
@SIBPVito@NYSDPS@nationalgridus Is this how Staten Island families are treated? Our gas was shut off without proper notice. HOURS of calls, broken promises, and no emergency restoration. We need accountability NOW.
@nationalgrid@NYSDPS How is it okay to disconnect a family’s gas over an inspection they were NEVER notified about, then offer no urgent solution? If inspections are mandatory, you need a system that doesn’t leave families at the mercy of your availability! DO BETTER.
@nationalgrid@NYSDPS You shut off our gas without proper notice, then expect us to miss WORK for an ALL-DAY appointment window to fix YOUR mess? And if we miss the technician, we wait ANOTHER day without heat? We have jobs and two small children. This is UNACCEPTABLE!
@nationalgrid@NYSDPS At 7:30 PM, after HOURS of calls, a supervisor told us a technician was “very unlikely” to come tonight, despite emergency service supposedly running until midnight. So my baby and toddler are left without heat? This is your idea of customer service?
