I need every business that has been posting about women’s day and end GBV to contribute to making sure our GBV shelters are sustained.
That’s what people who really care about the cause do.

Kwakhanya Mhlanganisi, 16, was allegedly murdered by two teenagers in Site C, Khayelitsha, on 4 December 2025. It is alleged that Kwakhanya was murdered in a homophobic attack, as he was part of the queer community.
It is alleged that two teenagers attempted to rob him, and after an initial altercation, the group reportedly chased after Kwakhanya, assaulted him with a brick, and then placed a bucket over his body and set it alight, causing severe burns. Kwakhanya later succumbed to his injuries.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murder. Another suspect, also believed to be a teenager, has not yet been arrested. This hate crime once again highlights the horrific realities faced by the LGBTQI+ community. We are heartbroken by the loss of yet another beautiful soul. When is enough, enough? #WomenForChange #UnburyTheTruth
The times I’ve done CPR on real women, it felt completely different because all our training mannequins basically have male chests.but the moment you say healthcare is built around the Caucasian male body, people start yelling “agenda” like it’s not a documented issue. Be serious
My heart is heavy this morning.
A young girl, Melissa, was murdered on her way back to school; her body mutilated and dumped in a swamp in Mukono.
When we speak about Gender-Based Violence, understand this isn’t just a campaign- Women are dying!!!

I find political trolling through gendered imagery ironic and tragic. To delegitimise a man, you strip him of masculinity. You don’t call him corrupt, incompetent or authoritarian. You call him … a woman.
Very telling, isn’t it?
On Friday, 21 November 2025, South African women will silence the nation.
We call on all women and members of the LGBTQI+ community across South Africa to refrain from all paid and unpaid work in workplaces, universities, homes, and communities to demonstrate the economic and social impact of their absence.
Because until South Africa stops burying a woman every 2.5 hours, the G20 cannot speak of growth and progress.
We demand that Gender-Based Violence and Femicide be declared a National Disaster. Not tomorrow. Not at another summit. Now!
Join the G20 Women’s Shutdown. Withdraw Your Power on 21 November. Spread the message across South Africa and beyond. Let’s show the world the power of women. #WomenForChange #WomenShutdown #UnburyTheTruth #G20
South African women are using 💜 to protest femicide in their country the men started a counter protest that they are not ATMs. Women are worried about their lives and men are worried about money that most of them don't have.🤦🏽♀️
