oh my god there are so many books to read and instruments to play and languages to learn and people to meet and songs to hear and food to taste and places to see and lives to live
Little thread: I had a patient today who was a little elderly black woman. She was telling me that she really didn’t want to go to the hospital because her hair wasn’t done and she notices that yt doctors and nurse treat her differently when her hair is done vs. when it isn’t.
Everybody talks about cutting ppl off but nobody really talks about the grief that comes with having to stand firm on that decision knowing it’s not what you wanted but what was necessary for your well-being.
I’m officially at the age I don’t want to be around people who are not self aware. Continuously putting themselves in bad positions, making bad life choices, toxic ways/lifestyles, no priorities lacking accountability etc.
The older you get, the more you realize it's not about who knows you the longest, it's about who makes you feel seen, heard, understood, appreciated, supported and loved.
