Growing up my house was so heavily decorated with religious things that one time one of my friends genuflected as he entered the living room. I have to say, I did it more than once myself.

When I was very little I was always curious about what my mom said to God in prayer. One day she told me “when I pray I talk to God about you.”

I really loved that and it made my prayer a bit better and now as a priest, when I pray I talk to God about my parishioners.
