yeah we're clearly in a period of stratification
this is an example on the individual level but it's also true between companies
rich get richer dynamics
Anthropic's Andrej Karpathy as Google intern and Stanford student:
"At Google I work on AI
i don't fully understand it, but that's exactly why I'm working on it "
he filmed a vlog from inside Google and Stanford - biking past Steve Jobs house on the way to work
years later that same "AI thing " he couldn't fully explain became - Tesla Autopilot, OpenAI, and Claude
he bet his career on a problem nobody had solved - and grew into the field he helped define
the lesson: work on what you don't understand yet - that's where the future gets built
Stanford → Google → Tesla → OpenAI → Anthropic

"Quantum Systems Group reckons it has broken the flight speed record for an electric drone. During internal testing last month, the Munich-based firm recorded its Apex Recordhunter drone hitting a top speed of 699 km/h (434 mph) in straight and level flight."

people talk about zone exercise all the time but it's so tedious to keep your pulse exactly within range, given your heart rate is slow to react, noisy, and drifting over long sessions.
still, i wanted to try, and so far the results are quite promising. i used polar h10 sensor and some treadmill that supports ftms. i reverse engineered the protocol and made an iphone app that connects to both devices and acts as a pid controller.
your heart rate sets the pace, and the prediction algorithm tries to keep it within your desired zone, gently raising or lowering the speed, frontrunning a breakout. i chose first-order with a dead time as a model, because it takes a minute or two for your pulse to settle after adjusting the speed. it also usually raises faster than it falls.
