Kamiya are sadly in a lose-lose situation for narratives
If Aniya explores —>colorist, don’t want KC
If Aniya doesn’t explore—> ugly, no one wants her
If KC explores—> Scammer who secretly wants a swirl or light skin
If KC doesn’t explore—> wants to scam “Shea butter” Twitter
Reminder that the civil rights movement was not just random people who had enough one day. They were carefully and militantly trained political activists who deployed strategic forces to end Jim Crow segregation. Never forget them.
If a woman had to choose the vehicle you would drive for the rest of your life and she knew you always wanted a truck, you’d had conversations about the truck you’d like to own, she knew that you always opted for a black vehicle, she watched specific trucks capture your attention for years, and then she arrives one day with a pink Honda hatchback and says ‘here babe, here’s the car you’ll drive for the rest of your life!’ you’d be frustrated too.
She knew what you wanted, you told her what you wanted, she didn’t have to go and get the biggest, most expensive truck but something within the realm of what she knew you wanted would have been nice. She didn’t listen to you, she didn’t even consider you when she went and bought the Honda. She ignored everything she knew about you and now you’re stuck with something that constantly reminds you that nothing you said mattered, you don’t matter and she doesn’t care enough to consider you.
If someone is testing you to see how much they can ignore you, embarrass you, or put you last, don’t feel bad for seeing that as a warning sign.
