@latkedelrey i don’t have a super defined lingual frenulum, but i have it pierced so the jewelry sits right on top of my salivary glands & i gleek significantly more often & more easily than i used to, but still haven’t mastered doing it on demand. someday tho.
@nursenevermind@j_real@jtrebach to be fair, i was diagnosed in november & i’ve changed my dose every month thus far, so it’s been a very unpleasant experience. i feel like while i still have my thyroid & my body wants to fight it, it’s not ‘over’ & i’d rather supplement vs suppress, if that makes sense
@nursenevermind@j_real@jtrebach personally, i just feel vaguely unwell most of the time & when i started it, i lost so much hair & my nails are like soft & bendy & i know that’s a superficial thing, but it’s really effected me. those are also hypo symptoms, ik, but they started right away, before i went hypo.
@j_real@jtrebach thank you! ✨ & that’s a great precaution to take! unfortunately, i have been told i am not a candidate for surgery & there’s a radioactive iodine shortage, so my endo wants to keep me on the methimazole, which i hate for many reasons 😣 i just wanna nuke that thyroid mf so bad.
@j_real@jtrebach my thoughts exactly 😂 that was my daily life for like a year before it occurred to anyone (myself included) that it might not just be anxiety & too much coffee, but i’d kill to be hyper now that i’m hypo 🥲
@DebG415 @hilaryagro if you have pre-existing conditions, it makes much more of a difference than it did for me - my dad was helped significantly by taking paxlovid & did not rebound. it’s only the case for a relatively small fraction of people, so it’s up to you what to deem the risk worth taking.
@hilaryagro from what i saw looking at research online, the estimates are anywhere from like 5%-25% of people who take paxlovid will experience a rebound/reinfection within a couple weeks of treatment.
@hilaryagro i took paxlovid when i was first infected (12/2, on pax 12/5-9), tested negative within a week while on paxlovid (12/7), still negative for about a week after that, & then 2 weeks out from my first positive test from the initial infection, i tested super positive (12/17).
@hilaryagro i would like to also note that i worked in food service until october 2021 & am baffled that i didn’t catch it then - now i’m in a small office with ~20ish people & i think i got it from my dad who got it from his boss in their office of like <10.
@hilaryagro i had it in december & then had a rebound from the paxlovid a week or so later - i only put one bc it was technically the same infection. & I’m quadruple vaxxed. Honestly, the paxlovid taste was the worst part of it all for me.
