The most important line in the @Anchorage x @Stacks announcement is easy to miss:

"Registration and signing on the Stacks side, including the paired STX stake, remain with the client."

🔍 What that means
Anchorage holds the BTC. The STX side stays with the institution. Any institution that joins through Anchorage still has to hold and stake STX itself.

🏦 Why custody was the missing piece
Many funds can only hold assets with a regulated custodian. For them, yield never mattered if the BTC had to leave that custodian. Now the BTC stays at a federally chartered bank, locked on Bitcoin L1.

📈 How this adds up
▸ Fireblocks, Fordefi, and now Anchorage
▸ Every new custody route opens BTC staking to a new group of institutions
▸ Every bond still needs STX locked next to it

My take: custody routes widen the funnel for BTC. The STX requirement is what connects that demand back to STX. Nothing official, just how I read it.
