Capitalism turned 2Pac into a brand. His image is celebrated everywhere, while his Black Panther roots and critiques of racism, poverty, and inequality are rarely discussed.
The ‘Democrat’ Party is an ironic moniker; like calling the biggest guy on the block ‘Tiny.’
They haven’t had a real presidential primary since 2012. They spend more to knock Greens off the ballot in every single electoral cycle than Greens spend on campaigns. Authoritarian regimes across the globe invent bull$hit reasons to remove competitors from the ballot all the time. Dems are authoritarian antidemocratic fascists. Everyone who supports them needs to think about the moral ramifications of that.
To yall in Florida maybe..
Not to us out here
The Bay is the Bay
When yall say west coast - yall usually only think of LA let’s keep it real
The Bay doesn’t adopt the “west coast terminology”
Anyone from the Bay can confirm this
It’s THE BAY First.. or we say our turf ..
The city - Frisco 415
The town - Oakland 510
The REAL 707 - Vallejo
The Rich - Richmond
the idea of one of the biggest artists in the world tapping into multiple regional sounds is really cool on paper. for me, the problem with the way Drake does it is it always feels very...cheap? latching on to a wave or in this case, using the spirit of Mac Dre, one of our most beloved icons in The Bay, as a surface level chess piece to disrespect California (something he already did with 2Pac of all people). it conflates very rich regional sub-genres and cultures with fleeting, transactional moments.
Rest In Peace Mac Dre & Tupac Shakur.
"The greatest black man who ever walked the African continent. He didn't fear anybody. He had those people [the colonialists] so scared they had to kill him. They couldn't buy him, they couldn't frighten him, they couldn't reach him."
