@BrysonAkinsNBA Yes the entire young core has yet to play an important game of professional basketball. We’ll be fun next year but mgmt is openly telling everyone it’s a year to vet talent and learn to win. AD fits timeline at 35. He’s here for cap options and if he stays, to help develop Sarr
@jansjay Exactly, they have done well drafting (especially in the late first round) and recovered well from being without assets in 2022 but so far the “wizards way” is 3 straight 16-17 win seasons. FO has a lot to prove, they should be quieter
I'd rather have Jaylen Brown than Giannis. Brown must either be forcing his way out or Celtics FO is lost and just a byproduct of Danny Ainge's success.
Final NBA mock draft. No chance Darryn goes #1 you Mormons
1. AJ
2. DP
3. Boozer
4. Wilson
5. (SAC) Acuff
6. Brown Jr
7. (LAC) Wagler
8. Flemings
9. Burries
10. Ament
when new models get released you have maybe 12-24 hours to get the most out of them. this is the best time for all highest level work. Obvious performance degradation after that.
@shoooobb@AdamFinkelstein It’s true. And then also look at Harper last year losing all year and then being a stud winner on SAS all playoffs. AJ also pairs poorly with Trae. But we also need a slasher! Just hope that Wiz give Dawk the same flexibility you know Ainge will get to do what he thinks best
saw random picture of ace bailey after draft last year. utah front office and player development is world class. no better landing spot for darryn in the draft
RE: NBA Draft
Wizards have to take Dybantsa. If Tre Johnson looked like an elite talent (like sadly everyone drafted above him), you can probably grab Boozer or Wilson. But he's a sharpshooter with a questionable, negative mental game. Sorry it's true. Wizards still need a slashing alpha and they have NO ONE. Either AJ or DP. If you (correctly) count DP's risk, AJ is BPA. Bonus: he's also best fit available and allows you to actually leverage Trae.
Jazz have to take Peterson. You take the swing on the riskier best player in the draft with question marks because you are dynasty if you're right and still a possible Finals contender if you're wrong. This one is so easy. Also Jazz fans should move on from the idea of keeping AJ in-state. No one gives a shit, they are adult men with jobs, move on.
Memphis has to take Boozer. You need winners in that environment and to be a tough mid-lottery team for the next few years. Build around him and deal Ja.
Chicago takes Wilson and fills seats. Chicago basketball is fun again.
Wizards fans with Wagler over Acuff for worst case 5th pick shouldn’t be shocked when (1) Acuff goes in the top 3-4 as he is worlds better than Wagler. (2) Caleb Wilson is the worst case 5th pick and you’ll understand why when you’re inevitably disappointed by him.
"I get to log off and disconnect for 48 hours but need you, my employee, to be engaged and aligned with shareholders on your wedding day" is the most incredible response imaginable. can't script it!
@GregFinberg@DraymondShow Barely/didn’t mention Trae. The disrespect for T3 is nuts to me. Even if you don’t think he’ll be back to peak form. AD is genuine and a great player but should focus on staying healthy. Can still be moved to a “right now” contender next year if he does.
The Jazz finishing with a worse record than the Kings is probably the single best argument for lottery reform ever. But the appropriate reform is that they should have gotten Cooper Flagg last year..
NBA draft lottery reform should also focus on giving teams in the middle more draft capital
