This is shocking. Especially in the face of (justifiable) criticism by Dems of, e.g., Mark Lamb.
Come on @TucsonRomero and @AdelitaForAZ . It's not that hard to draw a few simple "decency lines."
When Maricopa County Republican Party First Vice Chairman Shelby Busch said she would "lynch" me, hardly any elected Arizona Republicans denounced her. That created a permission structure that exacerbated such actions. It was ugly.
Dems, at the time, stated just how awful it was that Republicans couldn't denounce Busch.
Now, Romero and Grijalva, you're not only not condemning Perez, you're endorsing him.
That's mind boggling.
The calculus can't be "I want my public policy positions advanced, no matter how awful the human being."
That led my party, the Republican Party, to a really bad place. And society.
You yield any moral high ground if you do it as well.
Within the last few years, Rocque Perez has:
- Featured in multiple explicit public pornographic posts,
- Crassly publicly offered and publicly solicited sex acts.
- Encouraged violence toward Ivanka Trump ("Someone throw this bitch off the capitol building roof please")
- Encouraged violence toward a conservative activist (telling people to "end" the "vapid white girl... How has she not gotten beat yet?")
- Engaged in Jew-hating tropes such as the "dual loyalty" canard
....
And that's all just with five minutes of research.
You want a progressive candidate? Fine. Totally fine.
But find one who can check the box of basic decency.
If you want proof that our health systems overlook women, just look at menopause.
In The New York Times @nytimes today, I share why I’m directing new funding to improve the standard of care for menopause and perimenopause. https://t.co/8BPLMDwxdI
Women deserve to live in a world that prioritizes their health—full stop.
That’s why I’m announcing additional funding for women's health, bringing my total investment over the past two years to more than $600 million. Here’s what that looks like:
This is a staggering waste of taxpayer money and yet another disturbing example of the lengths some will go to keep women from having power over their own lives and futures.
Contraceptives are lifechanging, lifesaving tools and one of the best ways to lift people out of poverty the world has ever seen. There are so many women who wanted and needed these supplies. There were organizations willing to buy and distribute them. What happened instead is unjustifiable. https://t.co/1DKNCo9ccy
Alison Luchs, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art for 47 years, agreed to learn Gen Z slang and make videos because she wanted to raise interest in the museum’s art.
She never expected to slay. https://t.co/BsOhypLSh5
The deaths of Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti are unconscionable and weighing heavily on so many of our hearts.
Over recent weeks, in Minneapolis and other communities across the country, we have seen neighbors standing up for each other with courage, compassion, and solidarity.
No one in the United States should ever have to fear losing their life for taking peaceful, principled action in support of their beliefs.
Our country is not our government—our country is us, we the people. For 250 years, we have been bound together by bedrock values, the rule of law, and inalienable rights.
There is nothing more American than exercising our rights and holding our government accountable. Our democracy depends on it.
When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents.
In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much.
Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death.
If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.
More than 80 orgs providing women’s health care globally received $250M in grants from Melinda French Gates through her Action for Women’s Health challenge. Most had never received Gates funding before.

As a world-renowned ethologist and conservationist who spent more than 65 years studying wild chimpanzees, Dr. Jane Goodall fundamentally changed the way we understand the world—and our place in it. She was also an extraordinarily powerful advocate, inspiring young people all over the world to stay curious, compassionate, and committed to building a brighter future for people, animals, and the environment. What a force she was.
